Another great Slattery Auctions Condo 750 is behind us, and despite all the re-routes due to sinks and bogs, all the competitors, volunteers, officials and entourages are still trying to remove the Condo red dirt from their bodies and vehicles (and will be for many weeks).  It was a weekend with great racing conditions and a great track which held up well on the second day.

Unfortunately there were a few big busters on the Sunday competition and we wish those guys a speedy recovery.  To the 42 bike riders and 20 cars who finished the course, congratulations.  Hopefully those aches and pains will leave you in the next few days, and you will be able to move without grimacing.  A big shout out to all the local and ring - in volunteers who zero the course, sweep the track, drive medics around and work as controls so the event can go ahead.  Thank you.

A huge thank you to all our sponsors this year: Slattery Auctions, Lachlan Shire Council, ARB, PJL, Pirtek, North Parkes Mine, Shell Condobolin, Honda, Chamen’s SUPA IGA, Condo Steel, KMWL & Co. your support is crucial to the success and the longevity of the event.  To the committee, thanks you for all your hard work and the long and sometimes frustrating days that you put in dealing with the competitors, overarching bodies and chasing the never ending paper trail.  You now have a month off before it starts again!
So tell your mates, like us on facebook and watch this space to find out about the 2013 Condo 750!!

What happens over the weekend?

Friday

Competitors arrive in Condobolin at the SRA grounds on the Friday to be scrutineered for the event.  They then suit up and complete a short prologue track in order to determine their start order for the Saturday.  The prologue although short is competitive and the time is included in the total for the weekend.  There are designated viewing areas for spectators to watch the prologue on the Friday afternoon.  Once the competitors have finished their prologue they make their way to the main street of Condobolin for a street parade, ‘show & shine’ to show off their race machines.   This year posters will be available at the street parade so make sure you get your favourite competitors to give you their autograph!   The top 10 start list will be read aloud at the conclusion of the street parade and competitors will return to the SRA grounds to collect their race maps and final de-briefing.

Saturday & Sunday

Saturday starts early with motos (bikes) on one track and autos (cars) on the other, leaving the SRA grounds from approx. 7.30 am onwards, on the Sunday they swap tracks.  Breakfast will be available from approx. 5.30 am.   Viewing areas will be marked and maps should be available for spectators.  The lunch stop is at Vermont Hill (70km North West of Condobolin) both days, with steak sandwiches and cold drinks available.  Sunday wraps up with a presentation night at the Condobolin RSL club.
