What is the Condo 750?
The Slattery Auctions Condo 750 is an annual off road navigational rally for motorcycles, quads, cars and buggy’s held on the Easter long weekend. The event attracts competitors from all over Australia including Dakar riders Jake Smith and Rod Faggoter, Australian Safari winners, Todd Smith and Damien Grabham, as well as numerous other riders and whose aim is just to finish the gruelling 800 km track. Autos compete as 2WD, 4WD or buggies and boast local and interstate competitors
What happens over the weekend?
Friday
Competitors arrive in Condobolin at the SRA grounds on the Friday to be scrutineered for the event. They then suit up and complete a short prologue track in order to determine their start order for the Saturday. The prologue although short is competitive and the time is included in the total for the weekend. There are designated viewing areas for spectators to watch the prologue on the Friday afternoon. Once the competitors have finished their prologue they make their way to the main street of Condobolin for a street parade, ‘show & shine’ to show off their race machines. This year posters will be available at the street parade so make sure you get your favourite competitors to give you their autograph! The top 10 start list will be read aloud at the conclusion of the street parade and competitors will return to the SRA grounds to collect their race maps and final de-briefing.
Saturday & Sunday
Saturday starts early with motos (bikes) on one track and autos (cars) on the other, leaving the SRA grounds from approx. 7.30 am onwards, on the Sunday they swap tracks. Breakfast will be available from approx. 5.30 am. Viewing areas will be marked and maps should be available for spectators. The lunch stop is at Vermont Hill (70km North West of Condobolin) both days, with steak sandwiches and cold drinks available. Sunday wraps up with a presentation night at the Condobolin RSL club.
